The troupe’s longest-serving member, Charlie aspires to be a playwright but can’t seem to get Ronald to read his work. He and Ronald are the company’s two biggest names, but Ronald has the money, so he’s in charge. The two clash constantly, always ostensibly about the work. Charlie’s East End flat was destroyed in the first month of the Blitz, and he now lives with John. His favorite Twelfth Night tradition is taking down the decorations (someone has to say when the party is over).
